Happy Marvelous Monday!
Whew! What a steamy weekend! Temperatures in DC have been above 100 over the past few days, but I’m not complaining because hot weather is perfect weather for breaking frozen yogurt fasts.
I exceeded my goal by staying away from frozen yogurt for nine days, which I believe is a personal record. Except for a college semester spent in Mexico, where frozen yogurt is nearly non-existent (I’m not kidding when I say I went through serious withdrawals), I’ve eaten frozen yogurt at least once each week since landing my first job at TCBY in high school. (Best job ever, by the way).
The steamy weather also provided a marvelous excuse to stay well hydrated with fun beverages.
I kid. Don’t worry, I didn’t drink Skinny Girl White Peach margaritas all weekend long! However, Elaina and I did pop open the bottle last night. The flavor was fun and fruity—perfect for a girl’s night in!
I bubble-fied my beverage by mixing it with Seagram’s White Peach Sparkling Seltzer water.Fizzy drinks are the jam.
So yeah, the weekend weather certainly was steamy, but it had nothing on the marvelously steamy stripper scenes in the newly released movie, Magic Mike!

On Friday night, Whitney, Charlotte and I decided to cool down in a well air conditioned theater. Little did we know how hot things would really be.
Ooomph.;)
I snapped the above picture mid-movie, but it doesn’t do the scenery any justice.

Much better.
If that photo doesn’t warm your fuzzies up inside, I’m not sure what will!
Heh.
The not-so-happy part of the evening happened 3/4 of the way through the film, when thunderstorms (80 mph winds!) caused a movie theater blackout. This meant that we missed the end of the movie, but that we were also given vouchers to return for another viewing gratis! The price of one movie ticket for 1 3/4 viewings? Marvelous.

Since this is Marvelous Monday, I want to share a few more marvelous (and not so marvelous) happenings from last week and weekend:
Nutty Grocery Store Finds
Prior to our white peach margarita sipping Saturday night, Elaina and I frolicked through the aisles of the Georgetown Safeway. I particularly enjoyed the snack section, where I found this gem:
Is Safeway reassuring me that this nut/fruit/granola mix will, in fact, be digested? Phew. You never know these days! Hehe.
I skipped the digestible nuts and instead went with the might-be-too-spicy-to-digest ones.
Blue Diamond Wasabi and Soy Sauce almonds are one of my favorite healthy addictions. I’m looking forward to trying this new-to-me flavor as well.
I also stumbled upon a new version of one of my favorite childhood breakfast treats:
I’m not sure what’s super marvelous about Team USA Pop Tarts. Do athletes really fuel with these? How do sugar-packed pastries become official Team USA foods?! Oy.
Olympic athletes take note:don’t let the marvelously colorful packaging fool you! The world already knows that we’re gold medal junk food-eating champions; let’s show them that we’re gold medal athletes too! Chobani, another official Team USA sponsor is a much better choice, by the way.
*Favorite Dinner*
I enjoyed my favorite meal over the weekend: seared scallops with garlic butter and roasted Brussels sprouts.
If I had to eat one dinner for the rest of my life, I think this would be it.
*Real Lashes*
I bought a new mascara at Sephora over the weekend, and think it might be the best one ever.
I usually alternate between Dior Show and Benefit Bad Gal, but They’re Real (by Benefit as well) is even more amazing (and marvelous). I tried to take a picture of my eyelashes for you, but trust me, it looked frightening.
So instead of staring at an enlarged picture of my eye, just trust me on this one: this mascara does not disappoint!
I’m planning on using it to make my lashes extra long and bat-worthy for tonight’s viewing of The Bachelorette. I like to pretend that Arie’s dreamy blue eyes are staring back into mine
Before I go, I want to thank you so much for your support on my big decision last week. <3 Your encouragement means the world to me. Love you all! <3

Questions for you:
What was your first job? Did you love it or hate it?
I LOVED working at TCBY because I was able to sample all day long. The manager told me that I’d get tired of it, but I never did. Now that’s pure froyo devotion.
Have you tried the Skinny Girl cocktails? Thoughts?
If you had to eat one meal the rest of your life, what would it be?
Favorite nut?
and…
Who is Emily going to chose?!
